Compilation 01 - Quran, Hadith & Advice

Salam waleakum. I thought of ways to end the year so I figured I would do something I have never done before; put a series of mini posts together and make it one. I do hope you find it informative. --------

The reciters of the Qur’an are of three types:

1) Those who take it as a commodity and gain their sustenance from it.

2) Those who establish its words, yet neglect its commandments (i.e. read it but don’t practice according to it). Due to their knowledge of it, they act arrogantly towards the people of their land and they use the Qur’an as a support for gaining positions of authority. This type of people from among the bearers of the Qur’an are many.

3) And there is a type who apply the remedy of the Qur’an and thus place it over the sickness of their hearts. Due to it, their battles come to a standstill and they feel compassionate in their burnooses (long capes worn by the people of old). And they feel a sense of fear (of Allah) and the worries of the worldly life have left them. They are the ones whom Allah sends His rain down upon and He sends victory through them over the enemies. By Allah, this type of group from the carriers of the Qur’an are more honorable than that of flaming torches in the sight of the rest of the reciters of the Qur’an.

Al-Hasan Al-Basree (rahimahullaah) [Ibn Abee Ad-Dunyaa, Al-Hamm Wa’l Huzn #152, and Bayhaqee, Shu’ab #2621]

---------------- Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that a person came to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) and asked: “Who among people is the most deserving of my fine treatment?” He (SAW) replied: “Your mother.” He then asked, “Who next?” The Prophet (SAW) replied: “Your mother.” He asked again: “Who next?” He (SAW) said again, “Your mother.” He again asked, “Then who?” He (SAW) said: “Your father.” [Sahih Bukhari]

If you’re HURT by people, who share the same blood as you, remember Yusuf (alaihis-salaam), who was betrayed by his own brothers.

If you find your PARENTS opposing you, remember Ibrahim (alaihis-salaam), whose father helped build the idols.

If you’re STUCK with a problem where there’s no way out, remember Yunus (alaihis-salaam) stuck in the belly of a whale.

If you’re ill & your body cries with PAIN, remember Ayoob (alaihis-salaam) who was more ill than you.

If someone SLANDERS you, remember Ai’sha (radhi allahu anha) who was slandered throughout the city.

If you’re LONELY, recall Aadam (alaihis-salaam) who was created alone.

If you CAN’T SEE any LOGIC around you, think of Nuh (alaihis-salaam) who built an ark without questioning.

If you are MOCKED by your own relatives, think of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

Let’s take a lesson of patience & perseverance from them all. In Sha Allah.

Thank you as you share with friends and family. Jzk
